Johnson & Johnson asserts that bankruptcy is the only option to address both present and future lawsuits involving talc conclusively. Lawyers representing cancer victims who oppose the deal counter this by arguing that the plaintiff is countering legal nonsense with legal nonsense: J&J fraudulently transferred $50 billion in assets away from LTL Management to circumvent the appeals court’s previous ruling. Hyperbole is not exempt the lawyers representing victims call it the largest “fraudulent move that has occurred in United States history.”
