Hyperbole did not go unnoticed by the victims’ lawyers, who call it the largest “fraudulent transfer in United States history.”

Notwithstanding the legal mumbo jumbo, J&J does not really think this bankruptcy will survive. But it is a way of trying to push this $8.9 billion settlement through and maintain pressure on plaintiffs.
