Johnson & Johnson asserts that bankruptcy is the only means to address both present and future lawsuits involving talc conclusively. Attorneys representing cancer patients who are against the agreement argue this with what you conclude is a defense against legal nonsense by pointing out legal nonsense: J&J fraudulently transferred $50 billion in assets to LTL Management to circumvent the appeals court’s previous decision. Hyperbole was not spared by the victims’ lawyers, who call it the largest “fraudulent deal ever in United States history.”
