J&J is now offering that it will pay $8.9 billion to settle all lawsuits.
The funders’ involvement is made public because of the New Jersey court rule requiring the release of certain details about funders outside the state. This rule is intended to tackle the growing demands for the regulation of litigation funders. J&J is facing more than 60,000 claims when you add up state and federal infant powder litigation.
